Yummy Pizza Recipe: Make Pizza at Home

Hey there! I’m guessing you’re a fan of pizza? Well, let’s be honest, who isn’t? Pizza is like the OG of food. Be it an occasion or a late-night craving, it’s always pizza for everyone. But, we’re not always hankering after a restaurant-style pizza, right? Sometimes we want to bake it on our own and add our own flavors and toppings. While many people prefer ordering it from a restaurant, some people like it home-baked. This is why, we have brought you a pizza recipe that offers a delicious combination of crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese. Are you ready to get blown away? Let’s get to business!

INGREDIENTS (serves 2)

For Dough:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour 6
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Water as per requirement

For Sauce on the Base:

  •  100ml of tomato ketchup
  • 100gms of processed cheese
  • ½ cup of mozzarella

For Vegetables:

  • 1 tomato
  • 2 onions
  • 4 mushrooms (optional)
  •  ½ bell pepper; green

For Sprinkling:

  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of chili flakes

Step 1 of 5: DOUGH PREPARATION

In a dough hook, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour. Add salt and baking powder to it, and dry-sift the flour using a strainer. After that, make a small hole in the middle and pour in 2 teaspoons of virgin olive oil. Let it sit. In the meantime, put together a little amount of warm water and yeast, and mix until well combined. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. After the yeast has risen, work it into the flour using some water to create the dough. Keep aside for 4-6 hours. Knead the dough again, and there, you have your homemade dough ready.

Step 2 of 5: BASE PREPARATION

First thing first, preheat the oven to 180°C. Dust some flour on a dry surface and place the prepared pizza dough on it. Next up, is the rolling pin. Stretch the dough until a perfectly-even round base. After that, you want to take a fork and use it to prick the base all over to prevent it from inflating. Note that this step is necessary as it helps with the even baking of the base.

Step 3 of 5: VEGETABLE CHOPPING

Cut thin slices of capsicum, mushrooms, tomato and onions, and place them in four separate bowls. Make sure that the tomatoes are not too juicy. Finish with grating processed and mozzarella cheese separately on each cut vegetable.

Step 4 of 5: SAUCE ON THE BASE

Grab the pizza base we prepared earlier and coat it with tomato ketchup. Scatter half of the processed cheese all over and equally distribute the vegetables across the base. Finish it off by applying a thick layer of mozzarella cheese.

Step 5 of 5: BAKING THE PIZZA

We’re finally 1 step away from our home-baked pizza. Before we move on to our final step, make sure that your oven is preheated at 250°C for 5 minutes at least. Place the pizza base into the oven at the same temperature. Let it bake for 10 minutes. Take it out when it’s baked, and slice it into triangular pieces. Voila! You have your very own finger-licking pizza ready!

Some Tips and Tricks:

  •  If you have a standard oven, preheat it to 280°C five minutes before baking.
  •  If you’re struggling to prepare the base, you can buy it readymade. Make sure that the readymade base is not cold when you’re preparing the pizza.
  •  When kneading the dough, don’t roll it, instead stretch it.
  •  Use fresh tomato puree or paste for a more delicious taste.
